Plain terms for small digital products. Buying one gives you a licence to use it — for your own life or your own business, for as long as you like, on as many of your own devices as you like.
What you are buying
A file, and the right to use it. You may use a Plotline product for your own purposes, personal or commercial, and keep it indefinitely. You may not resell it, redistribute it, share the file or its access link publicly, or sell it on as your own product — whether as it is or modified.
Delivery
Products are delivered instantly through Etsy as a download. Where a product is an app, the download also contains a private link and code so you can open it on a phone or tablet without a file manager. That link is for you; please do not post it publicly.
Refunds
Because these are digital files that are delivered and usable immediately, they are not generally refundable once downloaded, and by buying you agree to that. But if a product does not work as described, tell us and we will fix it or refund you. That matters more to us than the rule does — email hello@plotlinehq.co. Statutory rights that cannot be excluded are not affected, and Etsy's own buyer protection applies on top.
What these products are not
Plotline products are record keepers and planning tools. They are not professional advice. Nothing in a Plotline product is veterinary, medical, legal, financial, tax or accounting advice, and no document one of them prints is a substitute for a document drawn up or checked by the relevant professional. Where a product produces a template — a contract, a form, a certificate — it is a starting point that you are responsible for reading, completing and, where it matters, having checked.
Your data and your backups
Your entries are stored by your own browser on your own device. We have no copy and cannot restore anything for you. Every app includes a backup function; keeping a backup is your responsibility. See the privacy page for the detail.
Availability and changes
We improve these products over time and may change how one works. We may withdraw a product from sale, which does not affect your right to keep using a copy you have already bought.
Liability
These are low-cost tools sold as they are, without a warranty that they will be free of faults or fit every purpose. To the extent the law allows, our liability for any claim connected to a product is limited to what you paid for it. We do not exclude liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. If you bought as a consumer elsewhere, you keep the protections of your own country's law.
