Plotline sells small tools that run entirely on your own device. We do not have accounts, we do not have a server that stores your work, and there is nothing for us to look at. This page says exactly what that means, and is honest about the two places where someone other than you is involved.
What you type into the apps
It stays on your device and we never receive it. Every Plotline app is a single file that runs in your browser. Your entries are saved by the browser itself, on the machine you are using. There is no sign-in, no sync and no upload, and the apps make no network requests at all once you have them.
The practical consequence is worth understanding: because nothing is stored anywhere else, we cannot recover your data for you. If you clear your browser's site data, use a private window, or lose the device, the entries go with it. Every app has a backup button that writes a file you keep — please use it.
This website
We run no analytics, set no tracking cookies, and have no advertising or social pixels on this site. We do not know who visits it.
One thing does reach a third party: the pages load typefaces from Google Fonts, so Google receives your IP address and browser details when a page loads, under Google's privacy policy. That is the only outbound request this site makes. We are working to self-host the fonts and remove it.
Buying
Purchases happen on Etsy, not here. Etsy takes the payment and is the seller platform, so your payment details never come near us. Etsy holds your order under its own privacy policy.
As the shop owner we can see what Etsy shows any seller: your Etsy username, the order, anything you put in a personalisation field, and any message you send us. We use it to fulfil the order and answer you, nothing else. We do not add you to a mailing list and we do not sell or share it.
If you email hello@plotlinehq.co we keep the message so we can reply and so we have a record of what was agreed. Nothing more.
Your rights
Under UK and EU data protection law you can ask for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email us and we will do it. If you are unhappy with how we respond you can complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
For anything held by Etsy rather than by us, Etsy is the data controller and their process applies.
